We are delighted to share the highlights from the recent RTi3 Conference 2024, held on March 22nd and 23rd at St. Paul’s on Bloor Street. This year's conference was a great success, bringing together nearly 170 delegates from around the world for two days of engaging discussions and knowledge sharing.

Led by co-chairs Lori Holden, Advance Practice Radiation Therapist at the Odette Cancer Centre, and Vickie Kong, Clinical Specialist Radiation Therapist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the conference boasted a dynamic program featuring four keynote speakers, three workshops, and almost 60 presentations in both oral and poster sessions. We were also honored to host esteemed colleagues from the United Kingdom with their presentations.

I look forward to RTi3 each year and was honored to deliver the keynote on inspiration. Funny thing about inspiration – the more I connect and learn from others, the more inspired I feel. The cycle that keeps on giving! There were so many informative presentations and meaningful conversations throughout the weekend. Truly this conference is top notch!
Maria P. Dimopoulos, Inspire Keynote Speaker of the RTi3 Conference 2024

The presentation topics ranged from the most current advances in radiotherapy, disease site-focused sessions, operation and treatment planning, patient care and experience, education, quality and safety.

"This year RTi3 conference celebrated its 19th anniversary. Grounded by the commitment to inspire, inquire, and innovate the practice of radiation therapy, this conference provides a wonderful opportunity for networking and engagement, and showcasing the amazing work done by our colleagues," said Holden. “These research endeavors span the spectrum of innovation, from cutting-edge technology to advancements in healthcare, all of which can help shape the future of the care we provide,” said Kong.

Great conference this year! Excellent choices of topics between the two rooms. I also liked the shorter topic lengths with lots of speakers. My interest was held the whole time.

  • Responding to emerging practice: Canadian Clinical Competencies for MR in Radiation Therapy. So what? What now? – Carrie Bru (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, CAMRT)

Another unique highlight of the program was the “National Innovation Snapshot” in collaboration with CAMRT, where 6 centres across the country participated in a session of seven-minute presentation showcase their local, practice-based innovations.

Moreover, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors and partners for their generous support!
