Join us for the RTi3 Pre-Conference Webinar on providing culturally competent cancer care to gay and bisexual men and trans women with prostate cancer.

In this one-hour pre-conference webinar Sean Ralph, Consultant Radiographer in Prostate Radiotherapy at Leeds Cancer Centre, UK, will discuss his MClin Res research, ‘Developing UK guidance on how long men should abstain from receiving anal sex before, during and after investigations and treatments for prostate cancer’.

RTi3 2021 Pre-Conference Webinar was held virtually on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 at 12:30 – 1:30pm.

Learning Objectives 

  • Develop an understanding of the information and support needs of gay and bisexual men with prostate cancer and apply this to your practice as a radiation therapist 
  • Learn how to comfortably approach the topic of sexual orientation and sexual function with gay and bisexual men
  • Develop an understanding of issues relevant to trans women with prostate cancer and what relevance this might have to the radiotherapy planning process for those patients who have undergone gender confirmation surgery

About Sean Ralph

Sean Ralph is currently a Consultant Radiographer in Prostate Radiotherapy at Leeds Cancer Centre in the UK. He qualified as a Therapeutic Radiographer from the University of Liverpool in 2011 and obtained a Masters in Clinical Research from the University of Manchester in 2018. Since 2012 he has worked very closely with the charity Prostate Cancer UK to ensure that their patient information and support resources are inclusive of the needs of gay and bisexual men with. Sean co-founded Out with Prostate Cancer in 2013, which was the UK’s first prostate cancer support group for gay and bisexual men.
