Applicant Assessment Reports

  • One academic reference must attest to your academic preparation and capacity for collegial study and research
  • At least one referee must confirm that you have the required years of experience as a practicing radiation therapist.
  • The referee letters together must attest to your skills, knowledge and character as well as capacities for interpersonal and collegial research and/or practice. One letter need not cover all aspects of these requirements, but all three together must do so.
  • There are no downloadable reference forms which you need to print out for your referees. By entering the referee contact information, our on-line application system will automatically generate an email to your referees instructing them to log on to the system and complete the letters of recommendation on line.

Please consider:

  • Applications are not considered until the $100 registration fee has been paid in full to the School of Graduate Studies.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Your application will only be reviewed once all required documentation has been received.

Medical Physics Residency

Interviews are normally held in late May.

Applications must include:

  • a covering letter which describes your background and motivation for applying to the program
  • a detailed CV, which also lists the names of three professional references
  • official university transcripts from undergraduate and graduate schools.

Radiation Oncology Residency

Residents are admitted to the program through CaRMS, although we also participate in the IMG-Ontario program and, space-permitting, accept suitably qualified International Medical Graduates sponsored by their governments to train in Canada.

All new residents are expected to have demonstrated leadership potential and research aptitude.

An interview with U of T Radiation Oncology faculty will be arranged through CaRMS in the January or February prior to July 1 entry into program.


Radiation Oncology Fellowship

Individuals who hold, or expect to hold, a Radiation Oncologist specialty certification in their own country are eligible to apply.
Applications must include:

  • a personal statement that also specifies the type of program and clinical sites of interest
  • an updated CV
  • 3 confidential reference letters sent directly from the referee to the Program Director by email or snail mail
