The Expanding use of SBRT in Radiation Therapy
Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) allows high doses of radiotherapy to be delivered in a few treatment fractions - expanding treatment opportunities in both the curative and metastatic setting. In this course, the fundamentals of a sound SBRT approach will be laid out, illustrated using a variety of anatomical targets, disease sites and clinical settings. Special focus is given to treating abdominal (liver and extrahepatic) and spine SBRT; evolving considerations in oligo and other metastatic settings, and the role of SBRT in combination with immunotherapy. Hands-on exercises will facilitate learning through skills development related to SBRT as a treatment technique. Participants aiming to refine the quality and adapt to the rapidly evolving indications for SBRT will particularly benefit from this program.
